It's important to remain centered & tune into your body during your session or self-treatment.
Sensations (hot, cold, tingling, pulsing, pressure, therapeutic pain) or emotions may arise in your body.
It's your body's natural way of retracing & releasing past traumas (emotional or physical), injuries, inflammation, stress or imbalances - in the form of tissue memory.
Healing Crisis
It's possible to feel sore after your session or self-treatment, generally lasting 24-48 hrs (possibly longer or shorter).
A healing crisis is a temporary "flare up" or worsening of symptoms that may occur.
It's all part of the healing process, which is commonly a non-linear whole body experience.
Therapy Ball
Use your therapy ball on therapist-recommended areas or anywhere that you feel discomfort (tight / tender).
Place the ball between your body & the floor (lying), wall (standing) or chair (sitting).
Allow your body to soften into the ball for 3-5 min.
Myofascial Stretching
Perform your favorite stretch(es) or therapist-recommended ones.
Gently stretch to where you feel restriction, but not to end range - don't force!
Hold each stretch for at least 90 sec & up to 5+ min.
Unwinding
Unwinding occurs when your body spontaneously moves during your session or self-treatment.
It may be big or small & consist of twitches, shakes, jolts or the desire to move your body around - feel into it!
It's your body's natural way of self-correcting & releasing restrictions through movement.
Rebounding
Rebounding is a "rocking" motion that releases the fluid component of your fascia.
To perform self-rebounding or "jiggling" - stand with a relaxed posture, gently & rhythmically bounce your body up & down, allow the movement to spread throughout your entire body, make the movement larger (or smaller) & continue to soften.
Breathing
Diaphragmatic or belly breathing decreases tension, tightness & bracing patterns in your body.
Slowly inhale through your nose by filling up your belly with air first, then your chest.
Soften your entire body with each exhale through your mouth.
Repeat for a few minutes & perform in any position.
